Replacing a roof isn’t always as exciting as a kitchen remodel or bathroom renovation, but it’s typically a big investment or as some would consider, expense. Having to replace your roof typically happens only once, maybe twice, in a lifetime, so many homeowners aren’t familiar with the process, the latest rooﬁng shingles or even how to choose a roofer. We encourage homeowners to ask these important rooﬁng questions!
Below are the rooﬁng questions we are asked most often or sometimes referred to as roofing FAQ.
This will depend on whether the rooﬁng shingles have been compromised or are still in good condition. Good rooﬁng shingles can be repaired if the damage has not affected their integrity. It your roof shingles are old and decaying, it’s a better idea to replace the entire roof or it’s just a matter of time before it gets worst.
Several factors go into determining the cost or your new roof. They are the quality and professionalism of your rooﬁng contractor, the brand, type and grade or rooﬁng shingle you select, the size or your roof and the shape and slope or your roofline.
Don’t choose a rooﬁng contractor on cost alone. Price is a key factor, but not the only factor you should consider. Quality rooﬁng material and contractor craftsmanship have a huge value. Trust us, we’ve seen plenty of horror stories. Hiring the cheapest rooﬁng contractor could cost more in the long run when you consider the cost to repair sub-par rooﬁng and the damage it causes.

If your gutters and downspouts are in good shape, our rooﬁng contractors will work around them. To avoid damaging them, we don’t remove and reinstall them once your roof is complete. There are circumstances that affect all rooﬁng projects, like weather, how much debris need to be removed, and more. However typically, our contractors are completely ﬁnished with your new roof, from removing the old roof to clean up in three or four days.
You could consider being out of the house during the day or going on vacation. There’s no way around the noise that will be occurring. But wedo all we can to minimize the hassle and inconvenience during the rooﬁng process.
If your garage doesn’t have a ceiling, our roofers will place tarps down to keep debris from falling into your garage. After the solid decking is installed, we’ll remove the tarps and use a blower to clean out the dust.
Park your cars in the street. The roof removal trucks need to back up to the house. You’ll save your tires from nails and your car from
dust and falling debris. Many contractors tell you to remove pictures from walls, chandeliers from the ceiling, odds and ends from the shelves, etc.
I you have a paver or some other form of decorative driveway, we will cover it with plywood to protect the surface from debris.
If you have a swimming pool, close the pool cover it you don’t have a cover, we’ll tarp that too!
Manufacturer shingle warranties are now lifetime. Most manufacturers’ warranties are transferable to the new homeowners for a small fee that covers the rooﬁng shingles. Our rooﬁng contractors will repair any leak at no cost.
